The Bible is often referred to as `the Canon.` The Greek word `canon` means the measuring rod or the standard. The Bible is the measuring rod of salvation, that of happiness, that of the Kingdom of Heaven and hell, and that of wisdom.
We must examine whether something is right or wrong by using the Bible as the measuring rod. We must compile what is preached in a sermon and examine whether it is the same as the Word of the Bible or not.
You must each decide whether you will go to the Kingdom of Heaven or go to hell by making judgments between the two. No one can do it for you in regards to the issue of going to the Kingdom of Heaven or going to hell.
The Lord even said "Why, even of yourselves, do you not judge what is right?" (Luke 12:57)
Some people say, "The Lord took on Himself all the sins of the world at His baptism, so now, I have no sins. I was originally a sinner destined for hell and of course, I still have many weaknesses, but I admit my wrongdoings and wholeheartedly believe that I have received the forgiveness of all my sins because the Lord took away all the sins of the world and the wickedness pertaining to those weaknesses when He was baptized by John the Baptist and He paid the price for all my sins on the cross and rose again the third day."
This is the truth. Those who believe in the water and blood of Jesus have become the righteous and go to the Kingdom of Heaven despite their insufficiencies (Matthew 3:15, 1 John 5:6).
But, what do other people say? They say, "No, the Lord only took away my original sin and I try hard to receive the remission of my personal sins every time I offer prayers of repentance and do good deeds. So, I can never become the righteous until the day I die." However, this is not the faith that believes is the righteousness of God, but in the righteousness of one`s own self which is like filthy rags to God, as Isaiah 64:6 says, "But we are all like an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags"
You and I must make the right judgment before God about which faith is right and which is wrong whether we believe Jesus Christ took away all our sins, or if He did not have the power to take them all away once and for all. www.bjnewlife.org
