There are many sinners in the christian circles today who fall into two different categories of sinners.

Some people admit that they cannot stop committing sin whether in their hearts or actions. They recognise that they are destined to go to hell if not for God`s grace, if God did not blot out all their sins perfectly. They are the people whose life itself consists of sins and sin itself constitutes them. They have an accurate perception of their true nature and their inability to keep Gods law. 

However, most other people are simply sinners ethically. They do not realize the gravity of their sins nor admit the judgement they should face.

These are the two different kinds of sinners and they both cannot pay off the debt in their situations.

The Scriptures say that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). We should receive the judgment and die because the wages of sin is death, and this death means to be cast into hell and cursed eternally. We cannot repay it while we are living because we must give up our lives in hell for our sins.

However, the Lord forgave sins of all the people; the grave sinners and the `little` sinners alike. He bore the sin of the world upon Himself when He received His baptism from John the Baptist and He paid the wages for our sins on the cross.

We become righteous when we understand that we really were inherently sinful beings deserving of eternal judgement and then believe in the righteous work that Jesus Christ fulfilled to wash away the worlds sins once and for all with the water (His baptism), blood and the Spirit (Jesus is God) (1 John 5:6).
