When God chose Aaron to be Moses’ right hand man he was just the same as everyone else, he also had the same inheritance sins from Adam in his heart. This is the way it was with every truly born again saint, we were also no different from Aaron before God allowed us to meet the gospel of the water and the Spirit.
Let’s take a look at what God said about Aaron after He choose him to stand next to Moses.
Exodus 7:1. Aaron the brother of Moses was immediately a prophet.
Exodus 7:9. Aaron was a miracle worker before the Pharaoh.
Exodus 8:6. Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters. Look at what happened.
Exodus 8:16. Aaron stretched out his rod and struck the dust. Look at what happened.
Exodus 11:10. Aaron and his brother did all these wonders and many more such things as instructed by God.
Waaw, from a person with a heart full of sin to a prophet of God and a miracle worker in one go. Not bad for a sinner whose heart was full of evil just like ours was before God called us to become His helpers. But let’s not loose track of what Gods word is telling us here. Moses was the main man, Aaron was only his helper. Let’s not forget who Moses was before God called him into service, Moses was a murderer, he had killed an Egyptian and this is why he fled Egypt and had to leave his life of luxury behind. Was this really the way it all happened or is their more to this than meets the eye?
Who and what was Abram before God called him and told him to leave his fathers house. Who and what was Noah before God called him and told him to build the Ark. Who and what was anyone before God called them into His service. From the day that the first man Adam sinned, every person who has ever been born and who ever will be born on this earth have the same 12 inheritance sins in their hearts. Markus 7:20-23.
After being chosen by God like Aaron and his brother Moses were, people who were transformed into a prophets and miracle workers, Moses the leader of Gods chosen people, and Aaron who would become the first high priest, their names would automatically be written in the book of life, just as the names of the truly born again Saints of today have also been transferred from the book of works to the book of life. We would think that as our names have been written in the book of life and that there that is nothing we could ever do that would have our names removed and replaced on the book of works. Well Aaron did, and if it was not for Moses, God would have destroyed Aaron before he became the first high priest. Let’s take a look at what Aaron did to anger God so much that He would have removed his name from the book of life and destroyed him. Aaron was a Holy man indeed, but he was weak and a backslider.
Exodus 32. Aaron the prophet and the miracle worker was left in charge of Gods people when Moses, the chosen leader of Gods people, went up the mountain to receive the commandments from God. Here we can see where and how Aaron took 14 steps in his backsliding.
V.1. Aaron listened to the whims and the gripes of the people, he let the people convince him to commit sin.
V.1, 22. Aaron knew that the people were set on evil but still he surrendered to the mob and went along with them.
V.2. Aaron agreed with the evil people to make an idol god, he told them to bring their gold to him.
V.4. Aaron received the gold from the evil people to make an idol god.
V.4. Aaron then fashioned the gold making from it a golden calf to worship.
V.5. Aaron built an altar before the idol god.
V.5. Aaron made a proclamation of a feast it, calling it Jehovah.
V.6. Aaron sacrificed to the idol god.
V.6, 19. Aaron sanctioned licentious eating, drinking, singing, dancing, and honoring the idol god.
V.8. Aaron worshiped the calf.
V.21-23. Aaron claimed the calf was god who lead the people out of Egypt.
V.24. Aaron laid the blame of sin onto others.
V.24. Aaron lied about making the calf.
V.11, 14, 25. Aaron in his weakness had exposed the whole nation to the wrath of God and their enemies.
Exodus 32:7-14. Here we can see just how Aaron and the people had angered God. If it had not been for Moses, Gods chosen leader, God would have removed names out of the book of life and destroyed them there and then.
Exodus 32:25-28. Here we can see how God poured out his wrath on those who still refused to obey Him. God ordered every man who choose to remain faithful to him to kill his brother, his companion, and his neighbor. 3,000 men of Gods people fell on that day.
Exodus 32:35. Moses told the people that they had committed a grave sin against God, but as the good leader that he was Moses went back up the mountain to try and make atonement for their sin. In verse 32 we can clearly see that names were already written in the book of life. Just look at the love Moses had for Gods people, he asked God to forgive them, if not, to remove his name from the book of life. Gods angel went before Gods chosen leader, but God also said that when he returned he would punish his people for their sins. Verse 35 tells us that God plagued his people because of their sins. The rest of the story we know, 40 years walking in circles, complaining, never satisfied, always trying the patience of Moses their chosen leader, look where it got them. Not one of that first generation entered that promised land, they all perished under Gods wrath in the desert.
Today God chooses his Church leaders very carefully. The leaders of Gods Church today can be compared to Moses. If only Gods people would have listened to the teachings and obeyed the instructions from their appointed leaders instead of always complaining and mumbling, instigating disharmony and causing rebellion and going their own way doing as they pleased, they could have entered that promised land.
Exodus 32:33. And the Lord said to Moses, Whoever has sinned against Me, I will blot him out of My book.
Aaron, after committing those atrocious sins while being chosen by God to be His prophet and miracle worker, chose to remain next to Moses. Aaron was installed as the first high priest and continued this duty for a farther 38 years before he died in the desert. Even though God spared his people He destroyed them all in the desert as he said He would, their names were blotted out of the book of life. Before Moses died he inaugurated Joshua as the leader of Gods people. But Moses told the people that after his death they would become utterly corrupt and turn away from doing what was expected of them. Moses also told them that they would continue to do evil in the sight of the Lord, and that they would provoke God to anger through the work of their hands. ( Deuteronomy 31:26-29 ).
Moses, as Gods chosen to lead His people, knew all about the evil in the hearts of mankind, he knew that they would never stop rebelling against Him. This was why God had first given His laws so that his people could differentiate between good and evil. God also knew that His people could never stop committing sin and this is the reason why He had the tabernacle built, and installed Aaron as high priest to perform the means for the people to receive Atonement for their sinful ways and their evil deeds.
So where does this leave mankind today, is the whole of mankind not still Gods people. Do all of Gods people not still have the inheritance sins from Adam in their hearts. Are the hearts of Gods people not still evil. Maybe the old covenant changed for the new, maybe the Old Testament changed to the New, but the sins in the hearts of Gods people still remain the same. So how do we take care of our evil ways and deeds today?
Although Adam left mankind an inheritance of sin, God left mankind an inheritance also, how to receive atonement for these sins. Many things have changed throughout the generations but the only thing which has never changed is the way God created for receiving the atonement for sin. This way was an everlasting statute.
Leviticus 16:21. This was why God installed Aaron as the high priest, and this was the only way in which atonement could be made for the sins of Gods people. The high priest laying his hands onto the head of the offer and transferring the sin onto the offer, once this had taken place the offer had to die. This was the price which had to be paid for forgiveness. This procedure was carried out as God had instructed, this was an everlasting statute. 16:34.
So where and how does this everlasting statute take place in the New Testament times?
Matthew 3:15 to 4:1. Here we see Our Lord who came to this earth in the flesh coming to John the Baptist as the last offer Lamb who had to die to pay the price for our sins. John the Baptist was according to the everlasting statute of the high priesthood, John was from the line of Aaron. All righteousness was fulfilled when Jesus received His baptism from John. The duty of the last high priest and the last offer Lamb was fulfilled in the Jordan river.
John 1:29. Behold, the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.
When John baptized Jesus he transferred all the sin of the world onto Him by placing his hands upon His head. When Jesus emerged from the water the Spirit of God descended upon him. This same Spirit lead Him into the desert to die, just as it was written in the everlasting statute from Leviticus 16:21. Who more trustworthy could you have had to lead the offer Lamb into the desert than the Holy Spirit of God.
It is finished, there is no more high priest, there is no more offer Lamb, there is no more blood which can flow for the forgiveness of sin. So where does that leave those today who have been chosen by God as his true people, when they, like Gods chosen people of the O.T. times continue in their ways after having their names written in the book of life. Our flesh is just as weak as the flesh of our forefathers, but they too had received the way to forgiveness, they died because they rebelled against God by defiling the only way God gave them to escape. Their names were removed from the book of life.
Today we know all of this, we only have to read Gods word. Gods word will never change, today people can and do change, but where God is concerned, we, just like His chosen people of the olden days can choose to remain at His side or rebel against Him. God has already written the names of His chosen truly born again Saints in the book of life, it is up to them whether it remains there or is blotted out.
Today the greatest danger the truly born again can face is still the lies from Satan. Man has always and will always be seeking for his own version of the truth and self divinity. Today man has historically denied the council of God and the wisdom from His chosen leaders, Man has turned inward instead of upward for his council and wisdom. The lie of Satan has evolved from Genesis 3:1. Has God not indeed said!. This has caused many destructive ideas which have crept in to cause Gods written word to become a mere form of religion which is dominant in today’s Christianity.
2 Timothy 2:15-16. Be diligent to present yourself approved by God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness.
It is mans own wisdom which has caused him to remain foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another. This has come about because man will not accept Gods written word just as it is, man always tries to manipulate gods word for his own best interests. This is how Satan can creep in and destroy someone’s faith. Many have already been manipulated in this way by Satan, they have been lead to believe that they know it all, and everything better than an other. Well this is nothing more than the same evil which afflicted Gods people after they left Egypt. It is called the I think syndrome. I think it should be done like this, I think God meant this when He said to do this and not that, I think that I know it all better than my Church leaders.
This is what happens when the I think people get involved with other I thinkers, it always ends up in idle babblings, and this always ends up in more ungodliness. Look at what happened to Aaron, He knew better but he was also an I thinker, he allowed himself to become drawn into idle babblings, and this almost caused the destruction of Gods people.
Today the Kingdom of God is here on earth and this is Gods true Church. In Gods Church the Moses’ have been chosen and are in place. Today in the Kingdom of God there is no room for the I thinkers, they only cause discontent which ends in rebellion and eventually total destruction. They bring in their own thinking and this is in rebellion against Gods written word.
These are evil times we are living in, the end of the era of the black horse is almost upon us. The era of the pale horse is closer than many will believe or accept. This is not the time for idle babblings with those who do not know or obey Gods will. Satan is up in arms now and he is doing everything possible to destroy Gods Church here on earth.
God has said that even the ports of hell could not close His Church, but all it would take is the wrong person to be put in charge. We must always remain thankful to God for choosing and placing His leaders in His Church, these leaders are the Moses’ of today. They are the ones who pray to God not to destroy His stubborn people. They are the ones who can tell the difference between the I thinkers and the truly born again of the water and the Spirit and keep Gods Church safe.
Was Aaron the prophet, the miracle worker, and high priest really such a great guy?
There is so much more than just playing at church, God is not looking for a building full of Christians. God is looking for true disciples who are willing to give up everything and go out and fulfill the great commission, and preach the gospel of truth to the ends of the world. Those who have become truly born again from out the gospel of the water and the Spirit are being lead by the Spirit of God, they are being taught by the Spirit of God, they are the doers of Gods word and not the I thinkers of Gods word.
For those of us who have become truly born again of the water and the Spirit, is it not wonderful to know that we have a Spirit which is stronger than the spirit whish rules this world. We know the difference between right and wrong because Gods law has revealed ourselves unto us. Just as Aaron was weak in his flesh so are we. But we thank our Lord through His written word that by His Baptism, His Blood and His Cross, His death and His resurrection our hearts have become sinless.
For those of you who would like to know more about Gods Kingdom here on earth, His true Church, then all you have to do is to place an order for Paul C. Jong’s free Christian books. These books will lead you right into Gods Kingdom, Why? Because they lead you to Gods written word and they teach you how to accept Gods word just as it is.
You can place your order for these books or download the e-book form at one of these sites below.
God only blesses those who think with Him, he curses the I thinkers because they think they already know it better than He does.
